上個月在Youtube看到的一支畫面創意與歌詞批判力道都十分夠味的MV。這首歌來是Flobots這個Progressive Hip Hop樂團在去年十月發行的Fight With Tools的第一首單曲，詞曲都讓我這個平常不聽饒舌的人耳目一新。Fight With Tools這張專輯的表現也非常傑出，幾乎每一首歌都有絃樂器或管樂器穿插其中，有幾首歌的搖滾力道更是讓我差點忘了這是一個饒舌團體，整張聽起來的層次非常豐富，聽慣了搖滾的人不妨一試。

歌詞裡滿是對美國這個世界軍事霸主與過度資本主義主導者的極度諷刺。有許多巧妙的隱喻隱含其中（尤其是第一段，翻得好痛苦！），有些還蠻前顯易懂的，像第一段的" I can keep rhythm with no metronome"。metronome應該就是指政府不應太過干涉人民，他們自然可以"keep rhythm"，不過其他的奇怪隱喻就超出我的理解範圍了，如：" Me and my friend saw a platypus"這是什麼啊！
整首歌詞也像一首預言末世到來的敘事詩。第一段是那麼無邪地細數著關於這塊土地上的種種歷史與文化，單純到只需一本自製漫畫書就能達到滿足的樂土，自由到不需要任何節拍器的限制便能保持著心靈的節奏不致紊亂。第二段開始，資本主義擴張，物質生活開始氾濫，所有看似讓生活更加進步的假象背後，隱藏著官商勾結的醜陋與天真滿足的消匿。第三段，整個國家的野心在瘋狂中灼燎，世界霸權、和平共主的假面具片片剝落，露出一張完全的狂妄、仗恃的僨驕。最後當整個世界結束在這個國家正義底下的屠殺後，我們看到了一個在單車上放開雙手的殘像，或許這殘像隱隱約約的代表著自由底下失控的危機原來可能近在咫尺，可能就在從我們東邊海岸遠眺過太平洋後第一個見到的那片曾經人如此嚮往的大陸。
