這首歌的專輯版本是經由Thom設計的一個電腦程式而產生的，團員們透過這個程式來創造這首歌，使用了電子琴與其它聲音。 Kid A是Thom為第一個人類複製人取的名字，Thom相信這個複製人已經活在世界上的某個角落。 Thom說過自己遇到了糟糕的writer's block（中文應該翻成創作瓶頸好些，描述一種失去了創造新的文字作品的能力），所以他會把一些小想法寫在紙上，然後丟進帽子裡。這張專輯很多歌詞都是從帽子裡面隨機挑出來組合的。

繼Fitter, Happier後經典的電腦音重現，不過在這張專輯中反而不顯得那麼驚世駭俗（這整張已經夠驚世駭俗）。 歌詞的部份令人著實驚嚇，看著聽眾一直亂猜歌詞的意思，甚者拼湊出或曖昧或諷刺的再造意義，這感覺一定很爽。這種閱聽者用自我意識去擴張文本意義的情況完全符合South Park十四季第二集（The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs）的劇情。嗚嗚我以後不猜了。 不過我覺得複製人這回事，就跟探討出生兩分鐘就夭折的嬰兒是否有靈魂一樣玄妙。 但也有可能沒那麼玄妙，只是跟鱷魚皮包或私人遊艇差不多的東西罷了。
